New President for Fujifilm Europe

Toru Takahashi (60) has been appointed President of FUJIFILM Europe as of 28 June 2012. He is succeeding Junji Okada who will take over a new position in the corporate head office in Tokyo. From his predecessor, Takahashi will take over all functions and responsibilities in Europe, including the role as President of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, Duesseldorf, Germany, and President of FUJIFILM Europe B.V. in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Takahashi graduated from Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo, and joined Fujifilm in 1975. He held several positions in the Recording Media Products Divison and was President of FUJIFILM Recording Media U.S.A., Inc., based in New York. In his last assignment he was Director, Senior Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Corporate Planning Headquarters at FUJIFILM Corporation, Tokyo. Takahashi will be based in Duesseldorf, Germany, in order to assume his new responsibilities. “Within recent years the organizational network throughout Europe has been expanded and strengthened. In areas where we are expecting dynamic growth, we have established new subsidiaries, namely in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Scandinavia” says Takahashi. “I will continue the work of my predecessor and further develop the regional head office functions of FUJIFILM Europe, managing the operations of all of our Business Domains across Europe. We continue successfully growing our strategic core businesses and at the same time strengthening our position in traditional business segments. I am committed to contribute to our continued business success in this important region."
